How We Operate
We strive to identify non-profit organizations that provide care for At Risk Dogs and then provide financial resources to these organizations to help them provide appropriate care. Often these organizations have staff and facilities in place but lack financial resources to fund their operations.
Our primary efforts involve identifying these organizations, screening them for operating credibility and effective use of funds, and then providing funds to these organizations. Our board members and Executive Director will make those determinations as a group and all funding decisions require an on-site visit by one or more Board members to ensure a non-profit operates in the spirit of protecting and caring for At Risk Dogs. All Board members provide their time on a volunteer basis and all are owners and guardians of one or more dogs.

Rescue And Rehabilitation Care
We support the rescue of dogs that are abandoned, neglected, and in need of physical, behavioral or medical rehabilitation. We look for organizations that have a focus providing for the humane long term medical care in a safe and compassionate environment during their rehabilitation. That care may be extended to include providing a place they unadoptable dogs can live out their lives in a comfortable and caring environment. With proper care many ill dogs can be rehabilitated to live out their lives in comfort rather than just be euthanized as a matter of convenience..
Medical Resources Care
We support care for dogs with significant and immediate medical challenges. We provide funding for essential medical care, including surgeries, medications, and continuous health monitoring. Our aim is to assure reasonable medical care is provided to improve their quality of life and that they are treated with dignity and compassion as they live out their natural life.
Disaster Care
We support organizations that care for animals displaced during natural disasters. Dring these times, many dogs are often separated from their families and at risk of physical harm, hunger and disease while they await reunion with their permanent families.
Education And Advocacy
We believe that education is key to change. Through organizations that provide community outreach and canine care educational programs, we support educating the public on the humane treatment of all dogs, focusing on the specific challenges faced by ill, older and neglected dogs. Raising awareness and cultivating a compassionate community that values humane caring for older and medically challenged dogs is a primary goal to minimizing the casual convenience of abandonment or euthanasia when an animal has become an inconvenient burden.
